Oh anti-choice family members…

So my stepmom is a born again Christian who is vehemently anti-choice. She volunteers at a Crisis Pregnancy Center and posts inane statuses on facebook about abortion. We’ve gotten into heated arguments on facebook that have caused some serious family issues so at this point I try not to directly engage but today I couldn’t resist. She posted this status:

“Sanctity of Life month:) Did you know that abortion is the #1 cause of death? More deaths by abortion than cancer and heart disease combined:( Not to mention the sadness and despair in the lives of countless men and women who are affected by it. It’s not a solution to anything. Choose Life!”

I decided to post a counter-status to put pro-choice energy into the world in an effort to combat her anti-choice energy:

“I just learned that January is Sanctity of Life month. I will be celebrating it by respecting the lives and choices of people who have uteri, their right to bodily autonomy, and by valuing sentient life over clusters of cells.”

Should be an interesting afternoon…
