Anonymous asked: I think in answer to the hierarchy or innocence, you could do a hybrid of Project Unbreakable where you include quotes from the perpetrator with the outfit, either on signs live models hold or just on signs with the mannequins. Stories could also accompany mannequins so that every story is acknowledged so that more factors could be considered at the actual time of viewing, challenging those who might see this as upholding cultural bias. I think its an incredible project no matter how its done.
Thanks so much for your input. Project Unbreakable is definitely an inspiration and in fact I was just talking with someone yesterday about the possibility of including things that were said to victims/survivors after the fact by friends and family as a way to talk about victim blaming. For the actual show I definitely plan to include information other than just the clothing. I was hoping to include stories, relationships to perpetrators, and education about it not being about clothing so that the clothes don’t just have to speak for themselves.
